Bedheads for Ensembles and Bed Bases
A new bedhead is a simple way to change the style of a bedroom, because you can swap the headboard and keep the base and mattress you already sleep on.
Most of our bedheads are upholstered, with padded fronts covered in a textile fabric. Many of our designs are made to pair with OMF bed bases, so an ensemble and the headboard above it look like one piece of bedroom furniture once they're set up together.
Choosing a Bedhead Design
Upholstered bedheads vary most in how the upholstery is finished. Buttoned designs have a classic look that suits a traditional bedroom. Channelled and panelled designs have cleaner lines and feel more contemporary, and curved shapes soften a room full of straight-edged furniture.
For colour, neutral tones such as grey sit easily with light or dark bedding and are simple to match to a base. Fabric and colour options differ from design to design, so it's worth seeing the ones you like in person at a store.
Which Size Bed Head Do You Need?
Match the bedhead to the width of your bed base. A queen bed head goes with a queen bed base, a king bedhead with a king bed base, and the widest size with a super king bed base. Some sizes are made to suit more than one base, so a single bed head may be listed under a larger size name.

Is a bedhead the same as a headboard?
Yes. Bedhead and bed head are the usual Australian names, and headboard is the same piece of furniture under the name used overseas.
Will an OMF bedhead fit my bed base?
In many cases, yes. Check the product page for the design you like, or ask a cOMFy expert to confirm the fit with your base. If your base came from another retailer, note the brand and size before you ask, because fittings differ between manufacturers.
Can I see a bedhead before I buy?
Selected bedheads are on display in our stores, where you can feel the fabric and see the colour beside a base. Call your local store first to check which designs they have on the floor.
